After rabbit hunting thurs my buddy's NID slid out of the case and hit hard on the butt chipping the toe. Sat am open barrel would not fire. Broken pin? spring? Parts? possible to fix yourself or definitely to a smith? I am not a double man and he only has the one. Thanks

The NID is not a thru-bolt gun, so it's a bit tougher to just take off the stock and inspect the lockworks to see what the problem might be.
For me it would go to a pro, since I'm not comfortable with my shadetree gunsmith skills.

Your friend may want to give Gunter Pfrommer a call. He is located in Rocky Mount, VA. One helluva nice guy and gun maker. Worked for Ithaca.
