After three shoulder surgeries gun weight does matter to me, even though I'm in good physical condition otherwise and at 6'3" 200#, I'm not smurf-sized. For me, the 'ergonomics' of the gun for carrying makes as much of a difference as weight--my Beretta O/U carries very easily both due to weight and balance (20ga 6.25#), my Wingmaster is a pretty good carry, but my SBE gets a sling even though it weighs about the same as the Wingmaster. Carrying my brother's RRL 20ga (over 7#) seems much easier than my similar weight magazine guns.
