Looking forward to the pictures. I like your idea of a straight grip on this gun.

I am gonna "mess" with it a bit but I think a straight grip and a copy of the current forearm from the same wood will be neat.  Have an idea but, have not setteled on how I want the barrels choked yet.

It has arrived...  Gun is in the house

Just under 7 lbs from what I can tell on my scale.  The frame is almost 1/4" narrower then my 12 ga.  Fair looking American walnut wood, and the fit is really good.  The case color on the receiver is in great shape and as such I suspect it may have been redone but it is in the same method origional to the gun.  The barrels are rust blued and in excellent condition. It is tight on face and the barrels are "built" in the chamber (breech) area. ( I still intend to use low pressure loads since it is a side lock.) The head stock meets the action and lock plates quite well. The dimensions are; LOP 14" off front trigger, Drop is 1 5/8 at comb, 2 1/4 at bump and 2 3/4 at heel.  There is just the slightest bit of cast off in the stock.   Bores are bright and shiney although I suspect there may have been a hone run in them.  I'll check all that and choke based on bore next week.

It actually comes up nice for me with a slightly raised head.  The balance point is well in front of the pin but I like weight in my front hand.  Wife played with it and says it comes up perfect for her.  Now I am in trouble....

Pictures are going to have to wait a bit.  Have to set up for them...  Perhaps tomorrow.

Looks like you will be in the market for another one. Sounds like this one is taken. :D
