I filled out my paperwork a couple weeks ago & expected to pay $180 with a 4-12 (no name) scope.
When I got there yesterday the price scanned at $150.
I have a 3x9 redfield to try if the scope is junk but I figure I can dump the whole works for $100 if accuracy is not acceptable for coyotes to 200 yards.
I've always been struck that NEF single shots are a poor man's Thompson Center singleshot. Looking at different BB comments the reports on accuracy are all over the place,

They will shoot like Haints but you have to clean the hell out of the barrels and then break em in like a high end bench gun.
My 17 HMR will shoot almost one hole (clover leaf at worst) at 50 yads... its freakin amazing. I could have paid a fortune to get a gun to shoot like this (and have). The triggers suck...

I have a heavy barrel in .223 that is preety accurate. Mine shoots better dirty. You may want to break the gun down and clean the barrel hinge pin (or whatever you call it) and the corresponding part on the barrel of all the oil on it. Graybeardoutdoors.com has a good section on handi rifles.

Good info, thanks for the tip. Boy my wife will flip tonight when she greets me at the mall with her Macy's bag and I with an NEF box.
